I havnt posted on my blogs for some time now as you may have noticed! I have been busy with several projects and assignments. The latest of which was loading all of my programs and files onto the new Imac. It is a lovely machine really. I am grateful for the new speed and digital real estate.
The other day I went down to UCI’s Campus, I always mean to go down there just to enjoy an after noon walk in the park once in a while, but I always get bogged down with one thing or another. I think that would have been a nice school to have go to. Beautiful Campus.
I have been working on the site. Pagination of the portfolios is in the process. I can not do much in the way of retouching until I recalibrate the screen on my Imac, so most of what I am doing right now is organizing and preparing to get everything else underway. Anything that can be done that is not color related is being done!
On another note, I think it is all to easy to get caught up in the business/ social aspect of photography. Often times photographers are more concerned about networking than they are about making the photographs that they are trying to sell (or the photographs that they use to sell themselves). I was recently reminded by a very influential photographer that art needs to happen every day, because that is what we are here for.
Keep an eye on the Site.
This is an image I submitted to a contest. If it looks a little desaturated it is probably because you are using firefox or chrome. They do not maintain the color space imbedded in the image. Feel free to vote if you do so desire.
I’ve been working on these photos all week and I am going to be working on them throughout the holiday weekend. Today I bring you a Germany update. Just as a lived in Austria for some time, I also lived in Germany. The town I lived in while in Germany, however, was much smaller than Vienna. It was called Schwäbisch Hall and it was a gorgeous place to be. SHA, as I call it, is located in Baden Wurttemberg in south west Germany. I have many fond memories of this town and the nearby castles.
So check out the new update in the Germany Portfolio.
Hello! Well I have been busy this week sifting through photos and updating my website. Todays update is from Austria. I actually lived in Vienna, Austria for some time a while back. I loved it, the city is gorgeous and full of culture. One of my favorite parts of Vienna is the public transportation system. The U-Bahn is top notch and the street-cars/busses are also very helpful. I should know since I used to use them every day! Most of my pictures are actually from the Wachau Valley. A ways down the Danube stands Melk, and more impressive is Stift Melk. Stift Melk is an Abbey which contains gorgeous architecture, art, and gardens. If you ever have the chance, this is a perfect day trip from Vienna.
So please feel free to check out my updated Austria Portfolio on my website.
I am writing to tell you that I have updated my website again. Today I uploaded and updated the Australia section. These updates are ongoing, so expect several more within the next week! I finally had a chance to go through my photos last weekend and sort them out, now I have several pictures that are ready to be uploaded! So please check out Michael Thayer Photography!

This is a hard question as travel is one of my greatest loves in life and a high priority. If I had to choose one place that I haven’t been, I would choose Japan. I have friends there that I would like to see, and I have always been interested in both ancient and modern Japanese culture.
